Siobhan McNulty, BSc Hons Communication, Year 3
I’m finding the course extremely interesting and enjoyable. It’s a great course to do, especially if you’re undecided what career path you want to go down as Communication opens many doors for you, both in its caring and business aspects.
Having studied the degree now for two years, I find myself regularly relating what I have learnt to everyday life; i.e. day-to-day interactions with other people and looking at healthy and unhealthy relationships, both personal and in the work place setting. I also find myself analysing talk within different settings/contexts.
It is definitely a course I would recommend not only because I find it interesting but also because I feel it benefits me in my own personal life. It has improved my communication skills and I have also learnt to read beyond what people say.
The course enabled me have a deep understanding of the principles of effective communication. The modules are wide and varied which helps you to garner a wider knowledge of communication or focus on a particular area of interest.
Students on the course are in a very supportive environment surrounded by excellent staff and facilities.
This degree has provided me with a sound academic foundation from which I am now able to pursue postgraduate study.
Jill Hendron, graduated BSc Hons Communication with Counselling, 2009:
Excellent course, professionally delivered by superb teaching.
Small friendly classes with lectures who know their students by name and genuinely care about you and your studies. Could not recommend it highly enough.
