What do students think of the course?
Mary Davies, who works in a school library said;
'By the end of each module I am amazed by the amount of knowledge and useful information that I have gathered along the way. My own library has benefited practically by changes I have introduced and by the growth of my own confidence in my work. The format of face to face teaching AND Webct is really good as you also get to meet and study along with other motivated librarians.'
Fionnula Carlin said this after successfully completing the first module;
'Inspiring and approachable lecturers, engaging and relevant course content, and extremely encouraging fellow students all combine to produce an energetic and supportive learning experience.'
Francesca Fodale, School Librarian, Our Lady of Mercy Girls’ School, Belfast, who completed the MSc in Library & Information Management:
'I found the course extremely rewarding both from a personal and professional point of view. Not only it allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of key issues of Library and Information Sciences, but it also covered crucial aspects of service development and management that inspired and motivated my day-to-day job. The contribution of experienced guest speakers and the discussions with tutors and other students also proved to be crucial in the analysis of the different topics covered during the course. I would warmly recommended it to all practitioners who are interested to further their professional development…and who are willing to work hard to reach this goal!'
